Constance Drew Obituary

DREW Constance "Connie" A. (nee Born), 92, of Berkeley Heights, NJ, formerly of Bogota, NJ, passed away in Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ on Monday, October 25, 2010. The visitation will be held in the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, NJ on Thursday, Oct. 28th, from 4 to 8 PM. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 29th at 9 AM followed by the Funeral Mass offered in Church of the Little Flower, Plainfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, NJ at 10 AM. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst, NJ. For directions or to send condolences please visit ippolitofuneralhomes.com. Constance was born in Queens, NY to Philip and Otilie Born. She lived in Bogota, NJ for 45 years before moving to Berkeley Heights, NJ in 2000. After Mrs. Drew raised her family she went to work as an administrative assistant for the Boggio Insurance Agency in Bogota, NJ for 20 years, retiring in 1988. In 1942 during WWII, Connie enrolled in the Air Warden Service, United States Citizens Defense Corps. in New York City . After serving as a warden, she received her honorably discharge in 1945. She was a member of the Altar and Scapula Society at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Bogota, NJ. Constance was the beloved wife of the late Edward and mother of the late Patricia Feather. She is survived by her 2 loving sons, Richard Drew and his wife Jan of Bogota, NJ, Larry Drew and his wife Lynn of Berkeley Heights. Dear mother-in-law of Gerald Feather and his wife, Barbara. Sister of Edward Born and his wife Nancy of Hicksville, L.I. Cherished grandmother of Evan and his wife Janelle, Jennifer, Kelly and Dana; great-grandmother of Bryan and Tyler. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Runnells Specialized Hospital 40 Watchung Way, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922.
