Eileen Giaimo

Eileen (Skeans), 90, of Wood-Ridge, formerly of Jersey City, passed away on May 28, 2012. Eileen was born in Newfoundland, Canada, she was an avid athlete excelling in Ice Hockey and Figure Skating.
Eileen worked for the USO during WWII where she met and later married the love of her life, Frank (1995). She was a book keeper for Faberge, Jersey City, for many years as well as the figure skating instructor at Roosevelt Stadium. She was also an election aide for the Bergen County Board of Elections for 15 years until three years ago.
Eileen is survived by her beloved children: Anthony (Vicki), Francine Incardone (Peter),
Gregory (the late Joyce) and her adored grandchildren: Lana Earle, Gia and Justin Incardone and Stephanie and her fiancee Michael Moratelli, and Christina Giaimo.
She was an elected county committee member of the W-R GOP County Committee for 20 years, was a member of the Wood-Ridge 60plus and Contemporary Clubs, the VFW Post 3616 Ladies Auxiliary and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church.
Her Hobbies included cooking, baking, crafts, and reading, especially poetry. She could recite from memory the poems of Frost, Kipling and others. Her favorite, "The Great Colossus," embodied her life. Eileen inspired many with her profound patriotism, devout faith and kindness, positive spirit, love for all people and her stories of world travels as a U.S Navy Wife. Eileen was, above all, the epitome of a strong and courageous military wife. While her husband served in WWII, Korea and three tours of duty in Vietnam, she kept vigil at home caring for the family. Like her husband, Frank, she too was a hero. Funeral Fri. 9:30 AM from Kohler Funeral Home 280 Hackensack St. Wood-Ridge. Mass 10 AM Assumption R.C. Church. Burial Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 PM.
