Frank McLaughlin Obituary

McLAUGHLIN - Frank W., 78, of Vero Beach, FL, died December 10, 2001 at Indian River Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a resident of Wyckoff, NJ for 51 years having moved to Vero Beach one month ago. He was a tile contractor and ceramic tile setter for 35 years. Frank was a US Army Veteran of World War II having served in Battery A, 340th Field Artillery Battalion. He landed on Omaha Beach, Normandy on D-Day and fought at the battles of Normandy, Ardennes, Battle of the Bulge and Central Europe. Frank was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon, and Croix de Guerre Victory medal in addition to various other citations. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Marion (Ferraris), two sons, Frank W. McLaughlin, Jr., of Vero Beach, FL, and Brian McLaughlin of Pequannock, NJ; one sister, Theresa Preston of Hudson, FL, six grandchildren, Sean, Jason, Frank, III, Jessica, Sara, Brian, and three great-grandchildren, Crystal, William and Brent. A funeral mass was held on December 14th at St. Helen Catholic Church with burial at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach. Arrangements were under the direction of the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
