Fred Varlese Obituary

VARLESE
Fred J., 86, of Westampton, passed away on August 16, 2013. Born in Kearny, NJ, Mr. Varlese resided in Lyndhurst before moving to Clifton in 1952. More recently, he has been living in Westampton, NJ. Before his retirement in 1988, he was employed as a bricklayer through B.A.C. Local #4, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, where he was a 50-year member.
Mr. Varlese was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 7165 Albion Place Post of Clifton and a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, Clifton.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Eva D'Arnese in 1986 and his second wife, Ljubica in 2001. Survivors include his devoted children, Philip Varlese of Westampton, NJ, and Lisa Varlese of Glen Gardner, NJ, and four loving grandchildren, Erica and Andrew Varlese and Grace and Melanie Neceda.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 9:15 AM, from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. Visiting will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peppermints and Ginger Comfort Care, 30 Washington Street, Princeton, NJ 08540 (www.pandgcomfortkits.org).
