Gabriel Iannacone Obituary

Gabriel Iannacone

Midland Park, NJ - Gabriel Iannacone, age 52, of Midland Park, NJ, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at his place of work in Fair Lawn, NJ. Known to his family and friends as Gabe, his death was a sudden heart attack. In 1966, Gabriel was born in Ridgewood, NJ and raised in Teaneck and Wyckoff, NJ. After local elementary and high schools, he attended Columbia University and later earned an Associates of Applied Legal Studies from Edison State College. Gabe loved his faithful black Labrador, Brando and his wide range of associates and friends. Since his teen years, Gabe aspired to make his mark in the world with a variety of occupations in law, real estate, and transportation. With the wit and insight of a television personality, Gabriel astutely followed local and international news. Thoroughly versed in history, politics, and popular culture, Gabe easily was able to write, speak, and forthrightly entertain and inform his family and friends. Gabe held family stories and memories close and since his early years he challenged his immediate and extended families sense of themselves. Gabriel was the eldest child of his late mother, Margaret Callaghan Iannacone, and is survived by his devoted father Joseph Iannacone of Midland Park, NJ, his younger brother Joseph O. Iannacone of Closter, NJ, and his younger sister, Dr. Rachel E. Iannacone-Bakirtzis of Nicosia, Cyprus. After a short life with ups and downs, Gabriel will be mourned and remembered by his family and friends for his larger than life personality and colorful badinage. At this difficult time, a lesson from Ephesians 4:32 should be recalled, "…and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you…."

A private family funeral mass and internment will be held.

Gabe and I were somewhat close in school, but lost touch after highschool. We reconnected a couple years ago and it was like a breath of fresh air, like others are saying his was bigger than life. I will miss him

I used to babysit Gabe as a toddler when he lived in Teaneck. He was a special little boy and one of my favorites to watch. He loved to go for walks in a stroller and could play all day outside. Even as a little boy he had a wonderful disposition and always entertaining and fun to be with. I am so sad about his passing and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I used to babysit Gabe as a toddler and later his brother and sister when they lived in Teaneck. Gabe was the cutest little boy who loved to go for walks in his stroller and playing outdoors. He was always a favorite of mine. I'm so sad to hear of his passing at such a young age and my prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Gabe and grew up together on Maitland Ave and had drifted apart - but reconnected a few months ago and had so many plans to meet up and catch up. So sad right now.
