George White Obituary

GEORGE S. WHITE

George S. White, 84, of Cedar Grove, formerly of Montclair, died on March 30, in Canterbury Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Newark, Mr. White also lived in Montclair, moving to Cedar Grove in 1965.

A businessman and scientist, Mr. White donated time to the Essex County Sheriff's Department. A lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America, he served on the Committee for Troop 7, St. Catherine of Siena RC Church from 1963 through 1980. He was a 32nd Degree Freemason and a member of the Blue Lodge.

Mr. White shared his knowledge of electronics and electricity with the students of St. Catherine of Siena School during the 1970s, volunteering after school hours to teach interested students.

Mr. White was predeceased by his parents Felix and Rhoda White; and his sister, Ann White. He is survived by his friend, Richard Williams.
