One of the earliest memories I have is of my father taking me to a hot dog stand in Brooklyn on Saturdays and buying me frankfurters. After all these years, the product was never cheapened. Funny how saddened I was learning of the passing of the man who made those frankfurters. My condolences to the Papalexis family.

He was truly a visinarie and he will be missed..My heart goes out to the family...Ecclesiastes 9:5 is a source of encouragement it says that the dead are concious of nothing and that wages are no more...so we do know that they are not suffering and that`s a comfort in itself.

My grandfather, Theordore Gavaris, was partner with Chris Palexis at the Olympia Bakery in the early 1900's. My dad, George, who died at age 100 earlier this year, often spoke of Chris Paplexis and his son. I remember visiting grandpa on Gun Hill Road in the Bronx and seeing him bring home hot dogs tied together and ready for cooking. May Mr. Paplexis rest in peace. My condolences to Helen and the family.
