Jack Traina

Jack Traina, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, passed away Tuesday August 7, 2018. Jack was born on January 2, 1935 in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn NY, and remained proud of his Brooklyn heritage for his entire life. Jack is survived by and was happily married to Clara Traina for 64 years.

Jack is also survived by his five children, Jack Traina (Joyce), Noella Werdann (George), Susan Knudsen (John), Peter Traina, and Angela Tapia (George), his 11 grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher, Peter, Kristen, Dane, Zachary, Stephen, Jack, Gabrielle, Anthony and Julien, 3 step grandchildren George, Kyle, Amanda, and 7 great grandchildren, Connor, Sophia, Liam, Kylie, Graham, Mark and Luke.

Jack was a lifelong Republican who served as President of the Bergen County Men's Republican Organization for over 15 years. He loved to play tennis, golf and basketball, and when the Brooklyn Dodgers broke his heart, he became a diehard NY Yankees fan.

Jack worked in a number of professions over the course of his lifetime, and was especially proud to be the first administrator of the American Dream Program in Bergen County New Jersey, which assisted first-time home-buyers achieve their dream of home ownership.

Jack was a devoted husband and father and was deeply loved by his wife, children, and extended family. He will be sorely missed. Funeral Mass will be Friday, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Ridgewood, with entombment to follow in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. Visiting Thursday 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood. www.feeneyfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ridgewood Emergency Services or St Jude's Hospital.
