Joseph passed away on May 1st, 2015 at the age of 62. He is survived by his loving wife Laura J. Policastro of 13 years, mother Anne Policastro and his mother in law Joan J. Donohue. He is predeceased by his father Michael Policastro and his aunt Gloria M. Johnston.
He is also survived by his two sons Joseph Policastro and Kyle Corino, his daughters Julie Roberto and her husband Rich and Leah Stamler, his two adoring sisters Michele Palladino and her husband Arthur and Debbie Cullen and her husband Tom, his five grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Joe was born in Passaic, raised in Saddle Brook, lived in Ringwood and Fair Lawn before moving to Wyckoff 8 years ago. Before his recent retirement, Joe was a carpenter/foreman for Sloan Construction for 19 years and prior to that was the owner of Joseph Policastro Construction in Ringwood. He was a parishioner of St. Anne's Church in Fair Lawn and St. Elizabeth's Church in Wyckoff and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, local 0253 in Hackensack. Joe was an avid N.Y. Jets fan, a Harley Davidson rider, a fisherman and a classic car enthusiast. He was actively involved in Rebuilding Together - Bergen where he made many dreams come true. Joe will be dearly missed by his many dear friends especially Russ, Tommy and John along with their families.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:45 AM at St. Elizabeth's Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff and the interment will be private.
