Little Ferry - Mark G. Emr, 68, of Little Ferry passed away on January 27, 2019.
Born in Hackensack, Mark was a lifelong resident of Little Ferry. He also enjoyed spending time at his shore house in Waretown. Mark built and repaired rock and roll tour buses for most of his career and was a supervisor with New Jersey Transit in Maplewood before retiring in 2012. A passionate and adventurous man, Mark loved travel and scuba diving, classic cars, guitars, and sports memorabilia. Above all, Mark will be remembered for his warmth and generosity, always extending help and support to family, friends, and even strangers in need.
Mark was predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Roberta (nee Mathis) Emr; by his brother, Douglas Emr; and by a sister, Lori Emr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (nee Bettio) Emr, of Little Ferry; his daughter, Kristine Coleman and her husband, James, of Little Ferry; two grandchildren: Emilia Coleman and James Coleman; a sister, Roberta Bennett and her husband Brian Bennett, of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters-in-law: Sandra Irving and her husband Todd Irving of Highlands, and Laurie Romano and her husband Michael Romano of Little Ferry; and brother-in-law Joseph Bettio and his wife Wanda Bettio of Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins along with his dear friend, Jay Horwitz.
Visiting will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral will be Wednesday 9:15 am from the funeral home and 10:00 am at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to either The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org), Attn: Donor Services, P.O. Box 98018, Washington, DC 20090-0818 or to the Daughters of Miriam Center (www.daughtersofmiriamcenter.org), Attn: Marketing & Development Office, 155 Hazel Street, Clifton, NJ 07011 would be preferred and appreciated.
