Marvin Berman Obituary

BERMAN
Marvin A., 81, of Wayne died suddenly at home Friday. He was a self-employed Certified Public Accountant for many years.
Born and raised in Paterson, he was the son of Louis and Lillian Chrisman Berman, and a graduate of Eastside High School, where he played football. He attended Seton Hall University before transferring to his beloved Indiana University, where he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1954.
Mr. Berman subsequently served in the U.S. Army as a communications officer in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he met his wife, the former Mary Ann Audrain, in 1956. They were married for 56 years until Mr. Berman's death. The couple lived in San Antonio, Texas, and upon Mr. Berman's honorable discharge, returned to his native Paterson. They moved to Wayne in October 1960, where they resided every since.
In addition to his CPA business, Mr. Berman taught accounting courses part-time at William Paterson University and Ramapo College. He was active in The Veritans Club, as well as Temple Beth Tikvah and the YMHA, both in Wayne. Mr. Berman enjoyed sports, including the New York Yankees, and especially football--he avidly followed and regularly attended his alma mater sports. He also enjoyed photography, movies and motorcycling.
He is predeceased by his uncle, Sam Chrisman and his brother, Phil Berman. Mr. Berman is also predeceased by his son Bruce, who died in 1992. Mr. Berman is survived by his wife Mary Ann and his sons, Marc of Pompton Lakes and Scott of Wayne.
A Graveside Service will be 11:30 AM Monday, August 6, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery, 12 Market St., Saddle Brook, NJ 07663.
