Michael Formisano

FORMISANO Michael, 77, of East Rutherford, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on December 29, 2010. Michael was born in Jersey City to John and Mary Formisano. Michael enjoyed coaching the Rutherford Babe Ruth League for 30 years and winning a world championship in 1981. He was proud to be a member of many organizations, PAL, Rutherford Junior Football League and the Rutherford Chamber of Commerce. As well as being the founder of the Youth Clubs of America and a Volunteer in Protective Services (VIP). He also served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War. He is survived by his former wife Valarie (nee Preston), his children, Michael Jr., Kim Formisano, Gregg and his wife Lori. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Formisano, Frank and John Testa, Jean Doyle, Frances Tuccillo and John and Gustave Formisano. He leaves behind eight loving Grandchildren USMC Michael III serving in Afghanistan, Kimberlee, Nicholas, Elicia, Jesse, Ricky, Bryan and Joey, also survived by his brother Salvatore and his sister Dolores Bentivegna. Friends will be received on Sunday, 2-6pm at Collins-Calhoun FH, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. A Religious Services to follow at 6:00 to 6:30pm. Cremation: Private.
