Onorato. SCIAN Obituary

SCIAN Onorato "Otto". age 89. of Saddle Brook died on January 1, 2010. Born in Cordenons, Italy, he lived there 17 years, then Newark and Clifton, settling in Saddle Brook 61 years ago. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a tool and dye maker for Shulton, Inc., Clifton for 43 years retiring in 1992, a member of the Teamsters Union, and a third degree Knight of Columbus, Garfield Council 2863. He was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, a choir member, a lector at the Italian Mass, a member of the Holy Name Society, and he was involved with many play productions at the church which included his role as Pope Pious XII. He is predeceased by his wife Teresa in 2007, and a brother Florindo. He is survived by five sons, Dr. Joseph and his wife Lois, David, Dr. John and his wife Dr. Margaret Mary Sacco, Paul and his wife Isabella Schroeder, Robert and his wife Dawn, and 11 grandchildren: Tamiko, Michael, Mark, Steven, Matthew, Christopher, Nicholas, Sienna, Samantha, Sophia, and Thomas. The funeral is Wednesday, January 6, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077) at 10 AM followed by an 11 AM Mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Visiting Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for the P.I.M.E., a group of missionary priests.
