Richard Kolbek Obituary
Richard J., age 93, of Garfield passed away Oct 3rd at the Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus. Husband of the late Margaret T. (Budz) Kolbek. Born in Garfield on June 24, 1923, son of the late Joseph and Stephanie (Kocian) Kolbek. He had worked as a Produce Manager for Foodtown in Garfield. U.S. Army having served during World War II and was reported missing in action and was a POW in Germany. He will be deeply missed by his daughters: Kathleen Meno of Wallingford, CT and Elaine O'Toole (Frank) of Garfield; daughter in law: Linda Kolbek of PA and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son: Richard Kolbek; a son in law: Donald Meno and two siblings: Joseph and Caroline. Viewing, Oct., 7th from 9:30-10:30 AM at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Route 209, Gilbert, PA, followed by a 11 AM Mass of Christian at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Gilbert, PA. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 15120.

WE ARE SO SORRY AND HEARTBROKEN TO HEAR OF RICHIE'S PASSING. HE WAS VERY SPECIAL TO ME AND MY FAMILY. MY HUSBAND MIKE AND I HAD VISITED HIM JUST DAYS BEFORE. WE WILL MISS HIM AND KEEP HIM IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

Sorry to hear of riches passing.my husband joe Gradzki also grew up in Garfield.he also served in the army in the battle of the the bulge.he however was lucky to escape capture.we now live in cedar crest village in n.j.joe turns 92 tomorrow October 6 .will have Richie in my prayers.God bless.
