Robert Florio Obituary

FLORIO - Robert J. age 68 of Waldwick died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Hackensack University Hospital. Born in New York City he lived in Waldwick for 40 years. Mr. Florio operated the concession stand at the HoHoKus Train Station for 20 years before his retirement in 1997. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He was a parishioner of St. Luke's R.C. Church, HoHoKus. Surviving is his wife Patricia A. (nee Byers) Florio, three daughters, Theresa Florio of Jacksonville Beach, Fl, Dorothy Dougherty and her husband Christopher of Wanaque and Margaret Florio of Abingdon, MD. Three brothers, Victor of Tappan, NY, Kenneth of Dumont and James of Fair Lawn. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brianne, Kyle, Andrea and Sarah. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary McDonald and a brother, Leonard Florio. Funeral Mass Saturday 9 AM at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 340 Franklin Tpk. HoHoKus, NJ. Interment in the Church Cemetery. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Memorial Contributions to Malivai Washington Kids Foundation Inc., 2933 N. Bob and Lou Sharpiro taught me the liquor business at Town Pharmacy before I moved on to Carlo Russo. Bob and I went to hockey games together on the Island from Ho-Ho-Kus. Great times, gentlemen all the way. Bob would be 90 now.
