Tom and I worked on a few recording projects outside of the workings of the RGB Band. We wanted to make a series of recordings that were non-musical with a radio show feel based on comedy and absurdity. I listened to the CD we made the other day and it is quite entertaining. Its fun hearing his voice and his sense of humor. Together we were almost like an Abbott & Costello duo. After I had moved to the west coast, Tom would call me in Oregon on a regular basis and if I wasn't ion, he'd leave long voicemails. I reminded Tom of our project and told him I'm all about recording and if he didn't want me to use them, then he shouldn't leave long voicemails on my machine, but in short he agreed to allow me to use the voicemails on the CD. It is very entertaining. I had been a big fan of Joe Frank and his radio show series, Somewhere Out There, and it was much of the inspiration to creating the "Tom Calls" . My girlfriend Kay and I acted as the radio show hosts with call ins with Tom as the main caller. The first selection on the CD is called Time Stamps, as Tom would always start out his call comparing the east and west coast times. I selected those timestamps out of all the calls and placed them all sequencially in the recording, which made for great comedy. There were other segments where Tom Talked about all kinds of interesting subjects, Mostly though, I reviewed all of the RGB Band recordings and Tom was truly an amazing drummer! What made him so good, he was a great listener who paid attention to the iambic pentameter of the lyric against the rhythm of the guitar strumming / picking. I had always been unable to let my natural musical sense work right with drummers who tried to force me to follow them. Tom followed my lyric and strumming which made the songs work well. You could hear his influences like Ginger Baker and a bunch of more Jazz oriented players. I think of Tom often. I'm happy to share with anyone, upon request, copies of recordings demonstrating his drumming skills in recording like "Toms Pet Toad" an RGB Band interpretation of Cream - Ginger Baker "Toad" drum solo. "When My Feather Falls To The Ground" was another recording Tom was outstanding on.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's Passing. I had been in communications with Tom all the way until he passed. all of a sudden communications stopped. Tom drummed for my band backin the 90's and was a good friend.
I knew Tom since 1992. I will listen to John Lennon tonight in Tom's honor! God Bless You Tom Dabrowski, and may You play drums for Jahovah's favorite Choir! Rock On Tom! I will listen to Tom's Pet Toad Tonight, and Salute You and your wife Esther! Peace and Love and good medicine Brother!!!
