Thomas B. LOIACONO

LOIACONO
Thomas B., 92, of East Rutherford for over 60 years and formerly of Lodi, passed away at home on January 22, 2017. Mr. LoIa-cono was born and raised in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Disabled Americ-an Veterans, the Lodi VFW and Lodi American Legion Post 136. For over 40 years, he was a Lead Engineer with the Operating Engineers Local 825 in Cedar Grove and retired in 1991. Thomas was a parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church. He was a member of the Lodi Knights of Columbus. Thomas was a member of the East Rutherford Fire Dept. and regular driver of Hook & Ladder Truck Co. #1. He held many positions, eventually being elected as Chief. Mr. LoIacono was a life member of the NJ State Firemen's Assoc., a member of the NJ and NY Firemen's Assoc., Past President of the C.R.E.W Chief Assoc., Trustee of the South Bergen Chief's Assoc., East Rutherford Relief Assoc. Delegate, a member of the East Rutherford Exempt Assoc., and the NJ State Fire Chief's Assoc. In 1976 he designed the E.R.F.D. uniform patch which was placed on the right shoulder of the new uniforms. He was also a member of the East Rutherford Emergency Squad. Beloved husband of the late Angelina J. (nee Oddo) LoIacono. Loving father of Joanne LoI-acono and the late Thomas F. LoIacono. Cherished grandfather of Justin. Dear brother of the late Carmela Speziale. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral departing from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad Street, Carl-stadt on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 9:00 AM for a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, East Rutherford at 9:30 AM. Entombment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Visitation, Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
