Walter Szcygiel Obituary

SZCYGIEL Walter, of Pequannock, passed away at home on December 8, 2010. He was 86. Born in Passaic to Jan and Ewa, Walter married Frances Koval in 1954. Walter served in the US Navy during World War II and was stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger. He was a locomotive engineer for 40 years, retiring from CONRAIL at the age of 68. He was a member of Rosol-Dul American Legion Post 359 in Passaic, NJ. Walter is lovingly survived by his wife Frances; his son, John; his daughter Janet; and his sister Barbara Walther. A funeral service will be held 3:30 PM on Tuesday, December 14 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Cremation will be private.
