Jo Schoning Obituary

Jo Anne Schoning, 69, of Thomaston, GA; formerly of Milford, IA; passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 1, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Maser Monarch Lodge located next to the Nature Center in Okoboji. Private family inurnment will be held in the Milford Cemetery Columbarium in Milford, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake, IA. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com Jo was born in Algona, IA, on June 17, 1956; to Raymond and Melba (MacRunnels) Schoning. She attended High School in Milford, IA. Jo worked as a Home Healthcare Aide. In her free time, she enjoyed researching her family's genealogy and spending time on the beach. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Stephanie (Mark) Willard of Sarasota, FL; grandson Jacob and her sister Bonnie Schoning. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Melba "Mickey" Schoning, and her sister Nancy.
