Arthur E. Streich November 27, 1939-September 19, 2013 Danielson - Arthur E. Streich, age 73, of Basley Road died Thursday at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Wauregan on November 27, 1939, son of the late Bernard and Florence (Robidoux) Streich. He was the husband of the late Florence (Jeffs) Streich. Mrs. Streich passed away May 7, 2003. Arthur served in the U.S. Army. He had been employed at various area companies, including Pervel Industries, Wyandotte Worsted and Rogers Corporation from which he retired. He had also worked as a school bus driver for the Town of Plainfield. He was a member of the Country Cruisers Motorcycle Club, AMVETS Post #47 in Wauregan, a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and owned and raced Harness Standard Breed Horses. He is survived by his son Robert Skelley and wife Roanna of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Sandra Basley of Canterbury and Jackie LaBrie of Sarasota, FL; his fiancée Carol Courtemanche of Danielson; sister Lorraine Dixon of Ballouville, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Streich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, Wauregan. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7 P.M. at Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson.
