DANIELLE J. KNERR 1972 - 2017
LISBON - Danielle J. Knerr, 45, passed away at the Yale New Haven Hospital on Tuesday July 11, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 28, 1972, a daughter to Linda (Cawley) and Charles Affourtit. She is the loving wife to Karl Knerr to whom she has been married to for the past 23 years. He survives her.
Danielle was originally from Long Island, NY before moving to CT in 1994. She was a very hard worker who was currently employed at The Spa at Norwich Inn for the past 18 years. She was currently serving as the Spa Director. Danielle was selfless and concerned for others, always putting others first. She was a friend to many but cherished being a wife and mother the most. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching the sunrise and playing volleyball. Danielle will be missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband Karl, Danielle is survived by her sons Kevin and Kris Knerr, daughter Lauren Knerr; sisters Dionne Affourtit and Desiree Fasano.
Calling hours will be held 11:00AM-2:00PM Saturday, July 15th at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. For online condolences please go to www.gagnepiechowski.com.

To the Knerr family, I just found out about your loss and was in disbelief. I worked with Danielle 12 years ago at the spa and remember her as a friendly face, who loved family above all else. She was a hard worker, which was apparent in her rise of accomplishments and responsibility in the company. Last year, she helped my daughter with a college class about spa management, taking time out of her busy schedule to talk to the child of a former coworker. Karl, Kevin, Kris and Lauren, There are no words to describe how my family and I feel about the loss of Danielle. Saying sorry just doesn't seem to be enough. She was a terrific person, wife, mother and friend to many. Always smiling and happy and lit up the room. She will be missed dearly but never forgotten as she will always be a part of everyone she met.
