Thinking of you, Eric and family. I've always had a connection with Eric. I am reminded of him every November, since we share that birthday month. He died the same year my son was born. And, the Christmas season begins with his memory in my heart. I am so grateful for the time you opened your home and lives to me. That experience lives within me with fondness and love. Eric, You my friend will live on. Like everyone close to you I also feel that the time you spent with us was far to short. I will truly miss having you by my side, you were the best friend anyone could ask for. You were always an ear to listen, the person I went to for advice. Our children will grow up together, I can only hope that they can form the lifelong bond that we formed nearly 30 years ago. I was lucky to have a best friend for so long. I know if there is a heaven you are there, finally without pain looking down on us. I look forward to the day that I see your smiling face again, but until then I will live my life as to make you proud. Rest easy until the day we can again embrace as friends, as brothers. Eric's laugh and smile are a part of my memories of growing up in Lebanon. It is absolutely heart-breaking to hear of his death and know the family he leaves behind. Perhaps the one silver lining is the amazing woman he choose to be his wife, who will without a doubt raise his beautiful and remarkable children in a way that serves as a tribute to his life. Wishing everyone peace in the days, months and years to come.

Eric was never my student at Lyman, but we often chatted and laughed in the hall. He was friendly, open and funny. I will always warmly remember his huge smile and his group of friends, hanging out together, being goofy and loving life. My husband joins me in wishing the Rudin family peace, love and strength to carry on without Eric's physical presence. It was amazing to watch how very loved Eric was in his old Lebanon community of friends-such a tribute to a life well lived. He will always be remembered. Eric... Looking back at all the times we meant to get together and never did weighs on my heart. I have been inspired by your wife, Angela to prioritize & appreciate every moment with the ones I love... I see that she has so much love in her heart and I have faith that she will stay strong to guide your beautiful babies through life.
I tried to tell you when I laid in bed with you days ago, but could only seem to tell you I love you… I am so very grateful to have had you when I randomly came to live with you... That was such a crazy and dark time in my life and having you made me feel connected to someone in a world of unknown faces & empty places. You helped make it a place of exciting adventures and playful fun. To this day, I keep our memories in my heart and remain close to some of the friends we shared.
I love that I got to be apart of your upbringing and family... I have become ever so grateful to them for taking me in. As I look back from where I am now in life, I view it as a selfless act of love- to take in a lost child in hopes of a better life. I had a lot to learn still, but the love I felt remains in my heart. You all touched it and became a piece of it: Auntie Liz, Unckie Rick, Mary & Jewel... I wish that I could help carry the burden; relieve some of the pain.
