Frederick Benoit Obituary
Jewett City - Frederick Thomas Benoit passed away on March 1, 2021, at the age of 67.
Born in Norwich on November 1, 1953, Frederick was the son of the late Virginia Roberts Benoit and Louis P. Benoit. Frederick grew up in Jewett City.
He was a police officer for the Jewett City Police Department and also worked until he retired for the State of CT Department of Mental Health.
He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He had been a member in numerous bands over the years and enjoyed playing out.
Frederick is survived by his wife, Colleen Benoit; daughter, Erin Benoit; son, Justin Benoit; and grandchildren. Frederick will be missed by his family and loved ones.
The Woyasz and Son Funeral Home of Norwich is assisting with arrangements.

Fred was my best friend and brother. He was as much a part of my family as any brother or sister could be. He had a sense of humor that would have you busting at the seams. If he loved you there was nothing he wouldn’t do for you. Godspeed Fred, til we meet again. Stan and Sue kobelski. JC

I knew Fred back in the 60s & 70s. Playing guitar [Down By The River], camping, -- etc. We had lot of fun and great memories. RIP Fred. --- My condolences to his family. --
