Harvey A. Johnson

Harvey A Johnson 1930-2013 Longmeadow, MA - Harvey A Johnson, 82, beloved husband, father and brother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 2nd 2013. Born in Norwich to the late Carl and Elizabeth (Archibald) Johnson, he recently moved with his loving wife Jean, to Longmeadow, MA from Aiken, SC. Harvey served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He grew up in CT and spent many years in Rittman, OH and Aiken, SC. Harvey was a proud Alumnus of the University of Connecticut and always held a special love for the Huskies. After graduation from UConn, Harvey was employed with IBM in New York and later with Babcock & Wilcox, where he was the Director of Manufacturing. He was an avid golfer, cyclist, and swimmer and loved to read and solve crossword puzzles. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Raynor) Johnson of Longmeadow; his two sons, Thomas Johnson and his wife Susan of Mendon, MA and Carl Johnson and his wife Melissa of Longmeadow; his daughter, Elizabeth Johnson and her husband Eric Hurst of Philadelphia; his sister, Millicent Goodman of N. Stonington and his five adored grandchildren, Ellen, Daniel, Andrew, Catherine and Charles. He was pre-deceased by his son, Andrew Johnson in 1996 and his brother-in-law Robert Goodman.
