Jacqueline Chartier Obituary

Jacqueline Chartier June 1, 1923 - April 16, 2010 Norwich - Mrs. Jacqueline Chartier of 520 New London Tpke. passed away late Friday evening at her home. She was born in Paris, France June 1, 1923 the daughter of Eugene and Angele (Pean) Pitard. Mrs. Chartier was active in the French Resistance during the Nazi occupation of France during World War 2. It was during that time that she met the love of her life Roland R. Chartier, and they were married in Paris December 29, 1945. Her husband predeceased her March 8, 1997. Mrs. Chartier had worked at the former Lynn Poultry of Norwich, Beit Brothers of Norwich and at J.J. Nissen, retiring a number of years ago. She was a communicant of SS. Peter & Paul Church Norwich. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, she was predeceased by her sister Jeanne (Renee) Lachaux. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in SS. Peter & Paul Church Norwich Tuesday at 9:00 am. Burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There is no visitation. Arrangements by Godere Funeral home Taftville.
