Jo Chartier Obituary
Jo was born on January 12, 1954, in Manistique to Francis Charles Chartier and Rita Delphine (MacGregor) Chartier. She spent the greater part of her life in Manistique, but spent 18 years living in Texas, where she enjoyed the warmer weather, friends, and the atmosphere.
She worked in the health care field as a medical transcriptionist, having completed some college. Jo was a true animal lover, and especially cherished her dog, Buddy. She was well known for her ability to procrastinate by those who loved her. In her free time, she enjoyed watching crime shows on television, and relaxing with a good cup of coffee. She adored all the girls at The Grind coffee shop, which was her favorite place to stop for a cup.
Jo is survived by Kim, Ashleigh, Alyssa, Taylor, and Cole Herbst; grandchildren, Peighton, Carsyn, Paxton, Kamree, Connor, Preston, Kynsleigh, and Koltyn; and special friends Gaye Thomas of Iron Mountain and Maribeth Kasun of Manistique.
Her parents, Francis and Rita, preceded her in death, as well as, her infant son, David.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Eva Burrell Animal Shelter.
A private memorial service will take place in the spring.
