Dear Heffernan Family,
With great sadness I send my deepest sympathy to the family. James (Jim) was my supervisor during my tenure at the Supervisor of Ship Building in groton, CT. I have nothing but fond memories of our working relationship at Sup. Ship. I will remember Jim as one of the best supervisor I've ever had in my working career. May God's blessings and the memories of Jim support you forever!
w/Sincere Sympathy,

To The Heffernan Family:
I met Jim when I was only 16 and working a summer job at SUPSHIP. Jim eventually became my boss a few years later. We always had so much fun. After he retired I would see him often at Target and around town. I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

My sincere sympathy to the Heffernan
Family in the passing of Jim. I worked with his father at SupShips many years ago, and Jim was a chip off the block of his Dad. I played basketball with Jim while he was employed at EB Div. long before his SupShips career. Jim lived a full and exciting life, and enjoyed a good party. A great guy. I am sure you have great memories of him to fill your hearts, which I hope gives you strength at this difficult time. My prayers are with you.

I had the honor of working with Jim in the Mohegan Sun Racebook. He was such a charmer! He told some great stories & I knew I was in for a fun night if I happened to be placed in a window next to him. My heart goes out to his family, he truly was a treasure.

We camped with Heffe and Marian for many years. He always had something to keep the kids busy. And a story or two to entertain us around the campfire. God bless and keep him in His arms.
IN MEMORIUM
In countless gentle, kindly ways he lived a sermon all his days. Believing in the folk he knew and making friends his lifetime through
Enjoying life, its works and fun, he sought the best in everyone. Living his faith from day to day, he sowed good seed along the way.
Now death has set his spirit free in fields of immortality, to claim a task of greater worth than any he had known on earth.
MISS ME_BUT LET ME GO
When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not for long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take. And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know, and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

Jim was a good neighbor to us here at the Lincoln Park Village. He regularly attended our "coffee clatch" and took the given title of "donut man"
with his ususal smile. Whenever we planned a gathering, whether our July 4th cookout, or our "Almost Oktoberfest" which he hosted, he was one of the first to volunteer to take on a responsiblity as a chef and handle it beautifully. He always was smiling, telling a humorous story, and politely listening to ours as he had mastered the art of being a good listener. In word and deed he was gracious, generous beyond expectation, and always made us smile, adding a positive and upbeat spirit to our day. His brief stay here added so much to our lives, and he will be missed but always remembered in the best of light. My condolences and sympathies to his family and friends.
