To the Batcheck Family.

We are so sorry for your loss. No words can take away the pain.

I first met Michael when he came over to my house to check out my son's go cart. He was as excited about it as my son was. This was many years ago and I could tell then what a nice guy he was just by the way he made my son feel that day.

We also enjoyed listening to his music when him and friends were starting a band. They didn't always hit the right notes, but we knew what fun they must have been having.

He is an angel now and will always be with you.

To the family of Mikey,
I have only known him for a very short time. We met through Michelle Pedroza while we were both living near her in Asheville. For that year, during a bad time for me in my life, he kept me head strong. He made me laugh pain away and helped me realize the greatness i deserved. Mikey was a strong spirit. When the little things got in the way he got angry for a minute and then laughed his way through it, knowing that being angry wouldnt make it better. Mikey was who we should all be... ALIVE. Everyday was a new adventure. He hated being bored or sitting still. I loved his laugh, his heart, and his nature. Mikey will always be gold to me... I will forever miss him.
With Great Love,

[1:07:43 PM] Ryan Landry: So its 10pm in Germany and I just got the most horrible news from back home. My best friend CC sent me a message on Facebook saying that two of my best friends died in a car accident this past Sat. Jermeny Debuios and Mike Batchek. Words can not describe how I feel. It's like a part of my family has been taken from me and there is nothing I can do about it. Mike was like a big brother to me. He cared for me and watched out for me. He took me in when I needed a home. I only wish that I could go back in time and just say thank you for everything you have done for me and thank you for being a great friend. I have known Mike for 8 years now and he has been like the best older brother and friend anyone could ever ask for. There was never a doubt in my mind that Mike would not steer me in the wrong direction. In fact he did the opposite; he guided me and motivated me to be better a person. He had this energy about him that drew anyone and everyone toward him. Mike was never a follower. He always loved what he did and he always made the best of any situation. All I can say about Mike is if you knew him you where blessed. He was an amazing person, a loving son, a great brother, and a amazing friend.

Mikey Mouse....I still can't believe it's real. I've known you as my adopted brother for over ten years. You are going to be missed by everyone because you always knew how to be friends with every kind of person. I love you and I will miss you. I wish I could have made it up there to be there with your family. Rest in peace.

Everytime I think of Mike I cant help but to laugh. Everyday at work with Mike was an adventure. Everyday we shared a laugh. After the stories I heard today my experiences with Mike were similarly shared by others. Mike made the carpool one of a kind. I will never forget our ride home on black Friday and all the laughs we shared at the adventures we had since our first day at Home Depot together.

Dear Paulette, Kevin & Rosey,
Words cannot express how sorry we are to hear of Mikey's passing. Our thoughts & prayers are with you at this terrible time in your life. My fondest remberence of Mikey was in our driveway next door to you on Hammond St when he rode the Big Wheel up the ramp & over & off the dog house, he came up with the biggest smile I have ever seen. He was so proud. And by the sound of everyone's memories of him you all should be too. Please know that you all are thought of today with the deepest of sympathy. God Bless you.

From the first day Mike joined our team at Home Depot, I knew he was a special person. It did not take long to realize he wasn't just a co-worker, but a great friend to all of us... one who would do anything for you. He didn't care if he just met you or if he knew you forever, you were a friend. His sense of humor was endless and he could take a joke as well as he could dish 'em out.

Mike, I am proud to call you a friend. Like you always said, "That's Awesome!"

...and so are you, Buddy!

Mr. and Mrs. Batchek -

My son, Ryan (Landry) called me today from Germany to tell me about Mike. He was devasted by the news and wanted to let you know that his thoughts and prayers were with you during this extremely difficult time. Mike was a very, very good friend. Ryan will cherish the time they spent together and the adventures they shared. It was always such a pleasure to have Mike in our house. He will be remembered for the deep friendships he made and the fond memories he left behind. His passing is such a tragic loss. Mike was a very special young man with enormous potential. He touched the lives of all who knew him and he will be sadly missed.

The Batchek Family:

I only met Mikey a few times briefly, at my sister's house. Though I barely knew him, the first thing I noticed was how kind and caring he was. Whenever someone needed a hand with anything at all, he was the first to jump to lend a hand. I loved the way he interacted with my infant niece. He will truly be missed. These days are very sad for all of us. Your son was a remarkable person, and I hope you're able to find comfort from the Lord during these difficult times.

I remember the first time I met Mikey - his smile lit up the entire room. As I got to know him a little, I learned that his smile was one of the most genuine and heartfelt smiles I've ever encountered - and as big & bright as his smile was, it paled in comparison to the man he was. Everyone whose lives he touched has a better life because he was in it; the world itself is better because he was here. I didn't get the chance to know him well - our lives didn't travel in the same circles often - but I will still miss him.
My heart goes out to his parents & family and his friends in this dark time of loss & mourning. May the love he had for you, and you for him, carry you through this.
You are all in my prayers.

Paulette, Kevin, Rose and family -- Our hearts go out to all of you. You are not alone in the sadness you feel or the pain in your hearts.
