Peter Fryer will always be remembered by many international students as a friend. When I arrived in the U.S. to start my graduate studies at UConn I encountered culture shock and a language barrier. I was told to contact Peter, as he was actively tutoring international students, helping correct pronunciation and explaining American slang. We shared our many cultures with Peter and he enjoyed tasting exotic foods at our many get-togethers. Peter helped make my time and many others at UConn some of the best in our lives. In addition, Peter was the primary resource for many students regarding car issues because of his great knowledge and love of cars.
My friendship with Peter became special when I married my husband John in Washington, D.C. in 1994. Peter represented my late father and gave me away in the ceremony. His presence and participation helped make that special day so memorable. I had a long talk with Peter last Christmas. He was very optimistic and had many new plans. I can't believe we lost you a year later, Peter. You will always be remembered.

One thing about Pete, he was always upbeat, in a good mood & always had something good to say about everyone. I'll miss seeing him at the car shows & so on. My sympathy goes out to his family.

Pete's Family,
My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to you all. Pete and I shared many great times together over the years. We went to many cruises and shows together, he even let me drive his '62 Comet to the N.E. Summer Nationals one year. Thanks buddy, that was quite the experience. I can't forget all the spaghetti dinners we went to at the Franklin VFW. They always had to make extra when we were there.
Pete, you were a good friend and I will miss you very much and will think of you often.
Again, my sympathy to Pete's family.
GODSPEED my friend.
As ever, Steve
