Bill was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and the VFW Post in DeBary, FL. Bill volunteered a lot of his time to the Knights of Columbus. He was famous for his pancakes at their Pancake Breakfast. He volunteered his time on Saturday mornings delivering food to local shelters.

Two Brothers Joseph Mares (Paulette) and Michael Mares (Cheryl), and two granddaughters, Kaitlin Plante and Britney Mares.
