Howard Greene Obituary

Howard Lee Greene, 64 of North Platte, passed away Nov. 16, 2009, at Centennial Park.

He was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Florence Elizabeth Pomplun and Ben Greene. He attended Scottsbluff Public Schools.

Howard's hobbies included boating, shooting pool, camping, fishing and casinos. He loved his grandchildren and animals and was a member of the Eagles Club.
Survivors include his parents, Jim and Bess McMurtry of Scottsbluff; finance, Carol Bingham of North Platte; daughter, Melinda (Juan) Macias of North Platte; sisters, Geraldine "Gerri" (Virgil) Blakeman of Alliance, Kathreyn "Cathy" (Charles) Cumpston of North Platte, Peggy (Rocky) Robinson of Scottsbluff; brothers, George (Mary) "Shorty" Greene of Bradford, Ark., Monte McMurtry of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Fay and George Pomplun; and a brother, Butch Greene.

A memorial has been established in his name and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, at the North Platte Baptist Church. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
