On Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, Jessica Denise Lemon passed away at home in Hershey surrounded by her family. She was 41 years old. Jess was born to Craig and Terry Lemon on July 31, 1980, in Watertown, South Dakota. They moved to North Platte in 1986 and Jess went on to graduate from North Platte High School. She continued her education, learning new skills throughout her life. Jess married Brandt Taylor and they had two sons, Jason and Shawn. She later married Daniel Schilmoeller and they had a son, Derek. Jess loved her kids very much! She had the biggest heart and never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. Children had a special place in Jess's heart. She was an amazing daycare provider and sculptor. In 2008, she had a great idea to start special needs baseball and with help from Nikki Barker, Bambino Buddy Ball was created so everyone, regardless of their needs, could play and enjoy baseball. Jess was also very community-minded. She was active with the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Little League Baseball and participated in the cemetery tours and Buffalo Bill reenactments. Jess had heart, passion and a love for life. She enjoyed doing sculpting and making Christmas ornaments, which she sold at craft shows. Jess was known to others by many names: Momma Jess, Miss Jess, Dress (for those who couldn't say Jess), Clay Lady and Coach. Most importantly she was mom, daughter and sister. She was preceded in death by her father, Craig Lemon. Jess was awesome and to her, everyone was her family, so she leaves behind many family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Terry (Mark) Woods; sons, Jason Taylor, Shawn Taylor and Derek Schilmoeller; stepdaughters, Brianne and Emily Schilmoeller, all of North Platte; her fiancé, Shaun Weekly, and his children, Issac, Eli and Alice Weekly, all of Hershey; siblings, Mark (Brandi) Lemon and Joni (Chad) Todd, of North Platte, Katie Woods of Lady Lake, Florida, Matt Woods of North Platte and Chris Woods of Parker, Colorado; and honorary big brother, Roger Sears of Gothenburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for her sons' future education. Online condolences may be shared at
odeanchapel.com. Celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Odean Colonial Chapel. Keeping with Jess's style, wear your favorite hoodie or casual clothes. The memorial book may be signed prior to the service at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
