Lynne Margaret Faulkner

Lynne Margaret Faulkner, 70, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, in Madison, Wisconsin. Lynne was born on Nov. 21, 1952, in North Platte, the daughter of Claude and Dorothy (Konen) Faulkner and the fifth of seven siblings. After graduating in 1971 from St. Patrick High School in North Platte, Lynne went on to study art and education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 1988. Lynne had a dedicated career as an art teacher for Lincoln Public Schools, retiring in 2017. Lynne, also lovingly called "Oma," was a vibrant and pivotal person to so, so many people. Lynne's caring intuition and attention to life's smallest, or largest, wonderments defined her personality. Lynne's magical way of experiencing the world is a gift she shared generously with all living beings through laughter, stories, music, art and curiosity. Her love was boundless and has been rooted deeply in us; throughout her communities, throughout her family, and, like she taught us, everywhere. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Dorothy Faulkner. Lynne is survived by her son, Kristoffer "Kris" Bohling; daughter-in-law, Thy Tran; daughter, Emily Timmons; five grandchildren, Myla, Hana, Ivan, Aubree and Thea; and brothers, Claude Jr., Phil, Tom, Dan, Steve and Doug Faulkner. Service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison. Join us for an outdoor walk in honor of Lynne through the Aldo Leopold Nature Center after the service. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. An additional memorial service will be in Lincoln at a later date. Gunderson East Funeral Cremation Care is in charge of arrangements.
