Ada Stroop Obituary
Ada Mae Shirkey Stroop, 79, of Mt. Jackson, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at her home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00am at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Burial will follow at Wakemans Grove Cemetery. Pastor Dale Bennett will officiate.
Ms. Stroop was born December 28, 1943, in Edinburg, VA, daughter of the late Howard and Viola Wakeman Shirkey. She was a member of Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren. She worked as a Deli Manager for Shaffer's Catering and worked at Bowman Apple.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Stroop.
Ada is survived by her children, Teresa Delawder (Mike), Charles Stroop, Lisa Miller (Randy); brothers, Henry Shirkey, Loyd Shirkey, and George Shirkey; grandsons, Aaron Delawder, Alex Stroop, and Christopher Miller; and a great granddaughter, Alexis Delawder.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Henry Shirkey, Loyd Shirkey, George Shirkey, Aaron Delawder, Alex Stroop, and Christopher Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Jackson Rescue and Fire, PO Box 251, Mt. Jackson, VA 22842 or Conicville Volunteer Fire Department, 763 Conicville Rd, Mt. Jackson, VA 22842.
