Dale Jett Obituary


Dale Ward Jett, 77, of Fort Valley died Friday at Lynn Care Center in Front Royal.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Detrick Cemetery in Fort Valley by the Rev. Sherry Waddell. Military honors will be by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg.

Mr. Jett was born March 8, 1931, in Fort Valley, son of the late Harry Elmer and Dorothy Effie Ritenour Jett. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Allied Chemical in Front Royal after 24 years. He was a member of White Chapel United Methodist Church in Fort Valley, Shenandoah American Legion Post 77 and former member of the Fort Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are a son, Steven Dale Jett of Strasburg; two daughters, Susan Gale Dysart of Woodstock and Lisa Dawn Young of Gliswold, Conn.; a brother, Clayton Jett of Riverton; a sister, Tannis Adelaide Walker of Strasburg; and two grandchildren.

The family will meet Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. at the cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fort Valley Fire Department, 7088 Fort Valley Road, Fort Valley 22652; or Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, 157 E. Washington St., Strasburg 22657.

Arrangements are being handled by the Stover Funeral Home in Strasburg.
