David Strickler Obituary


David Wayne Strickler, 64, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 21, 2025 at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Entombment will be private.

David was born December 3, 1960 in Harrisonburg, Virginia, son of the late Harry Morgan and Magaret Louise Ferrell Strickler.

He retired after many dedicated years as a Master Plumber from the Warren County School System.

David was one to strike up a conversation with anyone and never met a stranger.

He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Donna Strickler; one son, Matthew Strickler and wife Jessica of Salem, Virginia; three brothers, Craig Strickler and Chris Deavers, both of Front Royal, and Bill Strickler of Annandale, Virginia; one sister, Joan Cannon of Front Royal; one grandson, Jasper David Strickler; and twin grandsons on their way.

He also had family and friends who were like brothers to him, Chuckie Madagan, Eddie Atkins, Gary White and Anthony Kerns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bryan Strickler and Chuckie Deavers.

Pallbearers will be Chuckie Madagan, Eddie Atkins, Steve Heflin, Raymond Sargent, Anthony Kerns and Gary White.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Deepest sympathy and prayers for the family and friends of Mr. Strickler. May he rest in peace. (My Dad knew Mr. Strickler in years past, and was also very close friends with Harry & Bessie Strickler many years ago, who were related to him.)
