Donald MacDonell Obituary
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerome Fasano will be officiating. Interment will follow on the family property.
Mr. MacDonell was born on January 5, 1944 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Roy MacDonell and Margaret Holmes McLearn. He was a partner in CFM Management Services in Alexandria, VA. He touched the lives of many.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Evans MacDonell; a son, Michael W. MacDonell and his wife Shannon of Southgate, MI; two grandchildren, Riley and Ryan MacDonell, both of Southgate, MI; a sister, Julie Dalton and her husband Brian of Burlington, Ontario, Canada; and 9 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.

I will fondly remember DJ as the fun-loving, porsche-driving, jokester, who was one of the few people who could razz my dad because they were fast friends. My sincere condolences to Stephanie and Michael for your loss.

Some of my favorite childhood memories involve DJ and his amazing sense of humor! I cannot tell you how many times he got me with the "there is something on your shirt" joke. He was and will remain one of my favorite "family friends". To me, he was a part of the family, and a big part of my youth. He will live in my memories.
