Herman Helfrich Obituary

Herman Larry Helfrich, 82, of Front Royal, VA passed away after a 15 year battle of cancer at the VA Medical Center.

Born February 11, 1931 in Washington, DC he was the son of the late Herman A. and Elizabeth McCoy Helfrich.

He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the VFW in Front Royal.

He is survived by five children, Herman L. Helfrich, II of Front Royal, VA, Ronald E. Helfrich of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Rose Mary Helfrich of Springfield, VA, Eric W. Helfrich of Front Royal, VA, and David V. Helfrich of Alexandria, VA; two grandchildren, Steven and Aiden Helfrich; and one brother, Charles E. Helrich of Tampa, FL.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Doris Helfrich.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Martinsburg VA Medical Cancer Center, 510 Butler Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25405.

Dear Herman Larry, Ron, Rose, Eric, and David, I am so sorry for your loss. Ron, you are right, your mom and dad are together again and HAPPY! I loved your dad, MY Uncle Sonny, very much! As a child he always made me laugh and he always made me feel loved! The last couple of years I never saw him that he didn't tell me how lucky he was to have each of you!!! He was so proud of how you guys took care of your mom and how you were taking care of him. Lets keep in touch! I love each of you, Love, Valerie
