Janet Louise Goodgion

1930 - 2022

Janet Louise (Miller) Goodgion, age 91, passed away in her home in Fairfax County on Friday, July 1, 2022.

She is predeceased by her husband Andrew G. Goodgion. She is also predeceased by her brothers Wilmer C. Miller and Roscoe L. Miller, and her sister Georgia W. Bellman.

Janet was born to George W. and Cordula Miller on December 28, 1930, in Jerome, Virginia. Where she grew up on the farm with her dog Billy. She graduated from Triplet High School in 1947, completed business school and moved to Washington, DC. After 30 years of service, she retired from the Defense Logistics Agency. She enjoyed retirement traveling with her sister, spending time with family and caring for her beloved dog Shep.

She is survived by her daughter Kim Pugh, son-in-law Stephen Pugh, Sr. and grandson Stephen Pugh, Jr. She is also survived by her nieces: Shirley Dungan, Nancy Evans, Sandra Belan, Phyllis Lytton, Patricia Shelton; nephews: William Miller and Roscoe Miller, Jr. As well as many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030. Family will also receive friends on Wednesday, July 6th from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 4109 Jerome Road, Edinburg, VA 22824. A funeral service will be held immediately following. Interment will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church cemetery.
