Leona Marie Honaker

Leona Marie Honaker, of Edinburg, VA, passed away August 6th, 2025, at the age of 82. Born June 3rd, 1943 in York, PA, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. A remarkable woman whose life's purpose and greatest joy was raising her six sons. Her heart and home were always full, and she poured her love, strength, and wisdom into her children, guiding them through life with patience, laughter, and unconditional care.

She had an adventurous spirit and a zest for life that inspired everyone around her. She loved walking, tackling word-find puzzles, and discovering new places and experiences. Whether it was a simple day outdoors or a family trip, she found joy in every moment and embraced life to its fullest. Her boys, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treasured every second spent with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents Aden Lehman and Catherine Almoney; son Harry L. McClellan Jr.; grandson Matthew McClellan; sister Esther James; brother Harry Lehman; stepson Justin Honaker; and her devoted husband of 37 years Stephen Honaker.

She is survived by 3 siblings, Mary Snyder, Marty Lehman and stepbrother Paul Moul. She was a devoted mother to John McClellan (Kay Hall), Charlie McClellan, Michael McClellan (George Martinez), William Killen (Ann Killen), Frank McClellan (Tim Johnson); and two stepchildren Lidia Honaker and Stephen Honaker. She was a grandmother to 14 grandchildren, Harry McClellan, Christopher McClellan, Dianna McClellan, Angela McClellan, Crystal McClellan Rachel McClellan, Bradley McClellan, Brooke Cary, Brandon McClellan, Lauren Hayes, Brittany McClellan, Beth Moorefield (Killen) and Aaron Killen. A daughter-in-law Lynn McClellan and 23 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A loyal best friend of 50 years Bonnie Oliver.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to share in her life. Her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16th, at 11am, at Valley Funeral Service, at 14116 South Middle Road Edinburg, VA 22824.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a walk, enjoy a puzzle, or embark on a little adventure in her honor-just as she would have wanted.
