Mae Dodson Obituary
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 29, at 11:00 AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. R. Mark Jordon.
Mrs. Dodson was born December 23, 1926 in Warren County, daughter of the late John Walker Dodson and Lizzie Atkins Dodson.
She lived in Rappahannock County for many years, and raised her four children there. She was the wife of the late James S. Dodson.
Surviving are four children, Joan H. Updike, Susan D. Greer, Fred W. Dodson, II, and John P. Dodson; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dodson was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Laing and Peggy Oliver; and one brother, Marion Dodson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert E. Laing, Thomas L. Walter, III, Fred W. Dodson, III, Starsky A. Dodson, Shawn Dodson, Randall Updike, and Brian Updike.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria VA, 22312.
Arrangements are by Maddox Funeral Home, Inc. in Front Royal.

It was such a pleasure having Mae in our care the last four months. She had a spirit and sense of humor that brightened our days and we will miss her dearly. Thank you to the family for always providing such wonderful support and care to such an amazing woman. Our truest condolences....Gretchen and all the staff at Amerisist of Stephens City.
