Michael Ramey Obituary
As well as by his great grandparents, Katherine Ramey, Norma Matney, Edward "Bo" and Linda Lamb, Dale and Rosie Roe, and Daniel and Judy Ryman; and his grandparents, Kaye Ramey Barker, Rodney and Christine Bryant, Brenda Ryman Lamb, and Curtis and April Ryman. Not to forget his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, both biological and by friend.
When Michael turned 2, his family grew. He openly welcomed the addition of his step-parents, Joseph Woodall and Lacey Lancaster, and the family they brought into his life. His new grandparents, John and Margaret Lancaster, Debra and Barry Delaney, and Thomas and Debra Woodall, as well as his additional aunts, uncles, and cousins, welcomed him into their lives and loved him as their own.
Michael had a love for life far beyond compare. He never met a stranger, and he wore his heart proudly on his sleeve. He loved his family and was extremely proud to be a big brother to Seth Ramey and Jackson Woodall.
Michael had a smile that would light up a room, and blue eyes that put the ocean to shame. His laugh was contagious, and he could give you a nickname in seconds. He was a smart boy who loved to read comics and Harry Potter, he could tell you everything you ever wanted to know about Cardinals, and loved learning United States history. He enjoyed his cartoons, both new and classics, his movies, his video games, playing outside, watching the Red Soxs, Orioles, and Washington Nationals play baseball, and playing on his IPod.
It was never unusual for Michael to stop what he was doing to come find you and tell you that he loved you, or to snuggle up next to you. He had a kind and giving heart that always put others before him, constantly bringing his toys, books, or movies to his brothers as gifts, or picking a flower from the yard for his mom.
Although he was only 7 years old, he had a heart and soul wiser than his years. He aspired to do amazing things in this world and had dreams of becoming a Firefighter or Policeman when he grew up.
On June 10, 2018, Michael left us here and went to be with his family in heaven. He joined his great grandfather, John Henry Ramey; great grandmother, Linda Lamb; and grandmother, Brenda Ryman Lamb.
Services will be held Saturday June 16 at Riverton United Methodist Church, 55 East Strasburg Road, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating. Family and friends are welcome between the hours of 9 and 11 a.m. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
A Celebration of Life will directly follow the service at the Front Royal Volunteer Fire Department's banquet hall.
In honor of Michael, we ask that in lieu of flowers, you make donations to "Kenzie's Kidney" through www.gofundme.com. Kenzie was a friend of Michael's and we know, in our hearts, he would want to do whatever he could to help her.
Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.

Death is never easy. When it involves a sweet, innocent child, the pain is beyond measure. There will never be any words that could possibly comfort the family at this time. The outpouring support from the community is comfort enough. Hold on to each other, hold your children tighter, and share all of the wonderful stories you have with this beautiful little soul. Mackenzie and Michael were good friends. She spoke about Michael often and would blush anytime his name was spoken. I remember a conversation with Marc and Lacey saying he was the only boy I would allow Kenzie to date when the time came. Sweet Michael, may you rest in peace.
