Ronald York Obituary

Dr. Ronald C. York, of Winchester, Virginia, and formerly of Brockton, Massachusetts, died Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in Rose Hill Health & Rehab, Berryville.

A devoted emergency room physician at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal, Virginia, Dr. York was widely respected for his unwavering commitment to patient care. He also served his country with honor as a Major in the United States Army. Throughout his life, he lived by a simple yet powerful principle: always do what is right for the patient. He carried with him the guiding motto, "Do something good for someone," and his life embodied that noble calling.

Dr York was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Marie Tierney. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Brady of Fort Myers, Florida. Though he is gone from this world, he will be deeply missed by the many friends and acquaintances whose lives he touched.

As per his wishes, services will remain private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th Street NW, Washington, DC 20006-3517 or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

Arrangements are being handled by Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville.

Dr. York always had a big smile on in the Emergency Room at Warren. I worked night shift with him. He respected his nurses, staff, and patients. All of his patients loved him! Some would come visit him when they knew he was the doc on shift. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He will forever be remembered by so many for his kind heart and dedication to his profession and helping others.
