Josie Allen Obituary

Another of the Greatest Generation has died. Josie C Allen, age 94, passed away November 23 and was at peace with God and all men. He was born in Pensacola, Florida on April 26, 1922. He was one of seven children, four brothers and two sisters who preceded him in death. He served in the Army Air Corp in the European Theater. After the war he was employed at Eglin AFB as an electronic engineer. He retired in 1976. He was a fisherman and won several trophies for his catches on the Okaloosa County Pier during the fishing rodeos. May 2010 he was honored to go on the honor flight to Washington D.C. to visit the World War II Memorial. The highlight of the trip was the reception they received when they returned to Fort Walton Beach. He was member of the Fort Walton Beach Church of Christ. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Sara; sons Rusty Allen and Raymond Allen; daughters Kathy Waters and Lynda Davis; the mother of his children Barbara Clayborn. Graveside memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, December 2, 2016 at Beal Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Emerald Coast Funeral Home.
