Matthew Swafford Obituary

Matthew Aaron Swafford

Matthew Aaron Swafford was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 21, 2013. He was 33 years of age. Matt was born February 2, 1980, to Don and Sherri Swafford. He was united in marriage to Crystal Hillman on April 20, 2012, in Springfield, MO. Matt is survived by his wife, Crystal, two children: Isabellea Brooklyn and Brycien Axel; parents, Don and Sherri Swafford of Springfield, MO; two sisters: Maggie Swafford and Margo Swafford, both of Springfield, MO; nephews: Javon Swafford and Marcus Swafford, Springfield, MO; his grandmothers: Joyce Loehr of Ballwin, MO, and Kay Swafford of Mtn. View, MO; and a number of relatives and friends. Matt was preceded in death by two grandfathers: John A. Loehr and A.E. Swafford.

Matt was an amazing individual with a heart and soul of gold. He loved his family more than anything. Matt enjoyed fishing with his dad and he loved animals. The greatest joys in his life were his wife and kids. Matt will truly be missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to Matt's children through Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2013, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 10:30 AM at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Springfield, MO. Dear Sherri
I'm so sorry to hear that you lost Matt. It's been so long but I still remember when he was first born and I was so impressed with what a good mother (and nurse) you were, juggling all things. You are in my thoughts during this very difficult time. Love to you and your family.
