Michael Calumbo Obituary
Rev. Calumbo was a resident of Seagrove Beach, Fla. He was Methodist by faith and a member of Point Washington United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the U.S. Army as a sergeant. He also served as an Ordained Minister for 36 years for the United Methodist Church. He loved his cat "Rusty."
Rev. Calumbo is preceded in death by his parents, Girolamo Palumbo and Caterina Lomardo; his wife, Virginia Calumbo; one son, Michael J. Calumbo Jr.; brothers, Joseph and Barney; and sister, Rose.
Rev. Calumbo is survived by his son, James Calumbo of Seagrove Beach; also by one niece, Kathy Vanderselt; and nephew, George Palumbo; and one sister-in-law, Rose Palumbo.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Point Washington United Methodist Church, 1290 North Highway 395, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Point Washington United Methodist Church with Rev. Spencer Turnipseed, Father Kevin Johnson and Rev. Rodd Debs officiating.
Burial will follow in the Point Washington Cemetery with military honors.
Those asked to serve as pallbearers are Gail Speller, Greg Ridinger, John Drury, Fred Boyer, Charlie (Charles Modica) Jr. and Edward Jack.
