Anna Marie Krohn was born on May 21, 1930 in Wausau, WI. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Edna (Plisch) Krohn. She attended school at St. Stephens Church in Wausau, WI. She married the late George E. Kufahl on July 4, 1948 and had six children together. They moved to Illinois in 1954.
She married the late Charles Matteo in 1981 until 1991 and enjoyed traveling and family time and then married the late Earlin Krohn in 1998 until 2015 enjoying renewing friendships and family time.
Marie was a homemaker prior to working as a waitress and then as a clerk at Nelson's Jewelry in Crystal Lake for many years. She loved quilting and made numerous quilts for family and friends and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands George Kufahl, Charles Matteo, and Earlin Krohn, daughter Karen (Glenn) Jenkins, sister Anita (Bud) Fraase of Harvard, IL, sister Alice (Maeward) Christian of Wausau, Wi, son-in-law John (Peggy) Goettsche and grandsons Anthony (Jennifer) Schiavone and Mathew (Wendy) Lary.
She is survived by her children Linda (Steve) Gross of Elburn, IL, Peggy (late John) Goettsche of McHenry, Margaret (Robert) Lary of McHenry, David (Sandy) Kufahl of McHenry and Mark (Cheryl) Kufahl of Highland, IN and many nieces and nephews.
Marie loved her 11 grandchildren, Timothy (Jessica) Gross, Nicholas (Brittany) Goettsche, Jennifer (Anthony) Schiavone, late Mathew Lary, Josh Lary, Erin (Shane) Brankey, Leah (Jude) Tindall, Scott (Renee) Kufahl, Kenneth Kufahl, Zackery (Julieann) Kufahl and Lucas (Melissa) Kufahl and her 18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter.
The family thanks the staff at Wauconda Healthcare for the gentle, kind care provided to her and to the staff of Journey Care. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Journey Care.
Visitation for Anna will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in McHenry, IL. The Funeral Service will start at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel and will be followed by. burial at Crystal Lake Memorial Park in Crystal Lake, IL.
