Claire Dougherty Korkowski of Spring Grove, born April 7,1957, journeyed home with her husband Jack on September 3, 2016.
Mother, Sister, Friend, Artist, Bright Spirit. She danced into our lives and left us much too soon. Claire was the consummate artist - oils, acrylics, watercolor, pen and ink, charcoal, monotyping, jewelry - she did it all. She graced the life of every person she touched. She was the most beautiful, selfless, creative woman to ever walk this earth.
Forever missed by her daughters, Annie, 23, Kristen, 37; her brothers and sisters, Michele, Matt, Tom, Mary, Ann, Joe, John and Richard; and many aunts, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Gone from this Earth, but forever in our hearts.
Celebration of Two Lives, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg, IL, Friday, September 23, 2016. Service 11:00 a.m. Johnsburg Community Club, 2315 W Church St., Johnsburg, IL. Open House 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or The University of Iowa Dance Marathon are appreciated.

What is to be said, an absolutely beautiful soul inside and out. I can hear Claire saying "Love it", she always expressed herself in her everyday life. A talent ten fold and a heart only an Angel would have. God must need her talent, is all I can say. My prayers reach out to her, Jack and her entire family. God Rest her soul... and welcome her wonderful Spirit!

It is hard to find the right words to describe the feelings of loss. She impacted our family in so many ways. Private art lessons for two years with our son Tyler in his Jr. high days. She inspired him in so in his art. Painting our rooms in our home with her awesome faux skills. Sharing a drink with us when we would run into her in town someplace....she was just always there....We love you and will miss you.

I only had a few chances to interact with Claire at a local establishment over the years. Every encounter was one to remember. She was always so kind, and her gentle heart emanated through her beautiful smile. My initial impression when I first met her was that she was a beautiful sole inside and out. Her presence will be missed by all. My deepest thoughts and prayers for her and John to rest in peace, and for the family and friends to find comfort in the joy they graced all of us with. God bless.

I met Claire about 21 years ago, when I was only 16. I was and still am best friends with her daughter Kristen and I remember her warmth and the way her smile was contagious. Whenever I'd be at her house, she'd always grab me away to show me whatever project she'd been working on. In a lot of ways, she was like a mother to me. I'm going to miss her for the rest of my life. She was like family.

I met Claire at my garage sale about 5 years ago and we just hit it off. What an awesome lady we called each other Fairy sisters. What a beautiful Spirit i will greatly miss her

Cute, little, crazy Claire. That is what we used to call her as kids, playing each summer. I became reunited with Claire in 2014 and have been so grateful for that reunion and the wonderful holiday season we shared last Christmas. May you rest in peace with your loving husband, Jack. Claire was so full of life. She would inspire you to do anything you wanted. She was a unique and sweet individual. A co-worker of 5 years, she always had us laughing. She lived her life the way she wanted to. The last time I spoke with Claire she was so happy and at peace, she told me she was painting a ton and she was so proud of her daughter's and where they were at in their lives. Such beautiful words to describe Claire. She truly touched our lives and was a "one of a kind" spirit. She always took the time to sit with our children and sincerely want to know how they were doing. I always looked forward to a conversation with Claire. 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 states we can be assured that we that are in Christ will be joined together again in heaven someday. I'd like the family to know I'll be praying for them and that God is still on His throne. He has a plan for each of our lives and we are blessed when we yield to Him. I knew Claire only as a classmate but my heart goes out to her family and friends that knew her best. I'm sure she will be missed very much.

Claire is such a gift of pure spirit of love. I met her Jazzercising years ago in the back row of class laughing at each other the whole time. Who needed crunches for the abs when one could be laughing so much. I did not know Claire that well, but for some reason she has completely touched my heart.
I am very sorry for your loss of mother, sister and friend. May she find peace in the arms of our merciful Lord.
