Died: July 17, 2024 in Roselle, IL
John Charles Carroll Jr., 79, passed away on July 17, 2024, in Winfield, Illinois. Born 2/24/45, in Woodstock, he was a cherished figure in his community and a beacon of kindness to all who knew him.
John's education was at St. Mary's Marion Central, Notre Dame ('67), and, Kent Law School ('74).
A devoted husband to Beverly Carroll (née Cox) for 54 years and a loving father to Nicole and Jeffrey Carroll. His joy was multiplied with the birth of his granddaughter, Sophia Dickerson. John leaves behind his brother, Tom Carroll, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Charles Carroll Sr. and Elvira Carroll.
A friend to all animals and a passionate gardener, John spent many peaceful hours tending to his water garden and watching baseball games. A celebration of life service is being organized for late August to early September, where friends and family will gather to honor John's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the ASPCA and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, causes close to John's heart.

Uncle John, I will never forget the time you dressed up as Santa on Christmas Eve and put on that plastic Santa mask and had to show me it was you when I hid underneath the table in grandma`s basement kitchen. You are truly missed and loved.

Uncle. John´s love for my aunt as well as his family (which included his dogs) will always be my greatest memory of him. His humor, smile and even his laughter he maintained until the bitter end. He will forever be missed, forever in our hearts and I know when I see him again, he´s going to greet me as he always has. With a genuine smile, a warm hug, and a kiss.
