William Cwik Obituary
He was born Aug. 6, 1941, in Chicago.
William served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-67. He was an optician for more than 20 years, retiring in 1995.
William was an avid bowler, he enjoyed dinners out and spending time with his grandchildren. Bill lived life to the fullest, regardless of his loss of vision.
William is survived by his children, Sharon (Scott) Kulovsek, Sandra (Jack) Little and Mark (Dee) Lucas; his grandchildren, Mary Beth Krause, Andrea (Drake) Cody, Eric Krause, Ryan (Fawn) Little, Justin Kulovsek, Kasey (Steve) Wiskin, Samantha Lucas, Spencer Lucas and Pvt. Dayton Lucas; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, John (Joy) Cwik.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Elaine (nee Gurke); and his sister, Mary Sorrentino.
The visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the funeral service at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Blind Rehabilitation Center at Hines VA Hospital, Attn: Voluntary Services, 5000 S. 5th Ave., Hines, IL 60141, 708-202-8387.

Bill was such a wonderful man and will be missed. I knew Bill through my dad, Joe Blanco, who passed away on Dec 22. They became very good friends after meeting at a conference for people who had heart transplants. My dad used to bring Bill to my second grade classroom when we were learning about disabilities, such as being blind. It was always such a treat to have him speak. One thing I will always remember is him saying he would not want his sight back if given the chance. He was an amazing man and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
